What Happen If We Storage The Lithium Battery For A Long Time?

what happen if we storage the lithium battery for a long time?

At present, with the increasing global pollution of furniture, energy conservation and environmental protection has become a topic advocated by all walks of life. A lot of energy-saving and environmentally friendly products on the market have been developed. In the battery market, lithium battery is a supernova, which has quickly occupied the market by virtue of its safety, light weight, long service life, complete charge and discharge, low maintenance cost, and no memory effect, and gradually replaced traditional lead acid. Battery, of course, one of the important features of lithium battery is energy saving and environmental protection.

Lithium batteries are divided into ternary lithium batteries, lithium iron phosphate batteries, lithium iron manganate batteries, lithium ion batteries and other types.

The development of lithium battery industry in the country is very rapid, and the fields used are more and more extensive. It can be said that our technology life is inseparable from lithium batteries, and now the market uses more than 18650 lithium batteries. Compared with the traditional lead-acid battery, the lithium battery has the characteristics of high open circuit voltage, low self-discharge, high discharge rate, wide operating temperature range, fast charging speed, no memory effect and no pollution.

Yesterday, some users asked us, lithium batteries will not be bad for a long time? We say : Yes! ! !

New products that have never been used: Under normal circumstances, the lithium battery pack is 30% charged. For example, the 18650 battery pack has a capacity of 14.8V/2200MAH, and the factory power is about 600-700MAH. But the battery of the lithium battery pack will discharge itself, which is what we usually call leakage.

There are many electronic components on the protection board of the battery pack. IC, MOS, capacitors, resistors, etc. themselves will continue to consume power, plus the self-discharge of the battery itself (all rechargeable batteries have, Lithium batteries, polymer batteries, lithium iron phosphate batteries, nickel-metal hydride batteries are the same.) Although these self-discharge amounts are small, tens of micro-amps/hour, in the normal use process, a few calls can be slightly ignored, but if If you don't use it for a long time, it's not too small to calculate it. If you are tens of micro-amps in an hour, you can reach 1-2 Hao'an.

In this case, for example, 14.8V/2200MAH, 30% of the factory's power of about 600-700MAH is completely discharge for more than a year. If the battery is assembled on the product, then some of the electronics on the product are added. Components may leak faster and take less time. When the power of the lithium battery pack is completely dry, the cell diaphragm paper is completely dried and the electrolyte is completely “0”, and it cannot be activated at all, and it cannot be recharged. Some customers may say that it is not much better to fully charge the battery when you leave the factory. It is really better for this problem, but if the factory power is full, it is very unsafe, so the industry standard is everyone. 30% charged.

Used: When the battery pack is discharged and is protected, that is, the battery is basically discharged (in fact, there is only a little power remaining). In the normal use case, when the lithium battery pack is discharged to the protection voltage, the protection board is automatically turned off. At this time, the lithium battery pack is nearly exhausted, but some of the remaining power is about 5%, and it will be charged when it is used up under normal conditions. Sometimes, when I am busy, I forget that after a few days, I have nothing to do. I basically refilled after half a month and a month. The problem is not big. However, if this is used up, if you put it three or four months without charging it, it will almost be scrapped.

In response to these problems, as long as you do the following, there is no problem.

*: If the new battery has never been used, please do not leave it for too long. Especially if the new battery has not been used, don't throw it for four or five months. If it really can't be released in time, please remember to make up the battery!

Second: If the goods have already been shipped, they need to be indicated to the customer on the product manual. If the new product does not charge for a long time, the battery will fail. If it is used under normal conditions, when the battery is used up, it should be charged in an emergency. Otherwise the battery will also fail.
