(1) The advantages of lithium-ion batteries are related to nickel-hydrogen batteries. Li-ion batteries have the following significant advantages:

(2) Disadvantages of lithium-ion batteries

① Lithium-ion batteries are neither resistant to high temperature nor low temperature. Due to some defects in the manufacturing process, there is a possibility of explosion when the ambient temperature is high

②It is easily damaged by overcharging.

Long-term charging of lithium-ion batteries will put the battery on the verge of danger for a long time, because long-term charging will reduce the characteristics of the battery's charge and discharge protection circuit.

After the lithium-ion battery is charged for more than a certain period of time, if the charger is not removed, the system will not only stop charging at this time, but will also start a discharge-charge cycle, and the life of the charger will decrease.

Charging for a long time takes a long time, often at night. In the case of my country's power grid, the voltage at night in many places is relatively high and fluctuates greatly. Lithium-ion batteries are much less resistant to fluctuations in charge and discharge than nickel batteries, so the life of lithium-ion batteries will be further reduced.

③Because the chemical characteristics of lithium metal are very active, the processing, storage, use and environmental requirements of lithium metal are very high. Therefore, when not in use for a long time, the lithium ion battery should be taken out and placed in a cool and dry place. Do not freeze to prevent water vapor erosion.

④It is rarely used in the market of large-scale energy storage and power lithium batteries (with a large current in an instant). The important reason is that lithium-ion batteries use lithium and cobalt as cathode materials, which are not resistant to large current, high voltage, high torque, and In special environments such as collision and high temperature and low temperature, safety cannot be guaranteed. ⑤Lithium-cobalt batteries cannot be charged quickly and completely prevent secondary pollution. A protection circuit must be designed to prevent over-charging or over-discharging, otherwise it will cause dangers such as explosion.

⑥The price of cobalt is getting higher and higher. Congo, the world's largest producer of cobalt, has been caused by wars and turmoil, causing the price of cobalt to continue to rise.

⑦Prevent the purchase of spare lithium-ion batteries for storage, because even if the battery is not used, its service life is naturally compromised.
